— tidiness. Ve were very proud of it. One law, and it did not need doing twice.
Four votes on one member. In my day that would have been a scandal in the other direction: somebody would have stood up und asked why the first one did not take, und somebody else would have been given a smaller office for asking. I know about the smaller office. Mine had a window onto a wall.
Ours took. One afternoon in July, one page, und the question was closed — not only for the member who was an embarrassment, but for everyone who had not yet thought of organizing anything. Zat is the part I would like you to notice. A censure is aimed at a person. A law is aimed at a possibility.
You are still aiming at persons. Four times, at the same one, on four different afternoons, with the television on. It is very sporting of you.
Ve did not have television. Ve had a radio, und Krüger, who decided which programmes were suitable. No ear at all. He put the concert on after the speeches, every time, so by the time the music started everybody had gone to bed.
