Let's be clear about what happened with the map, because the coverage has gotten ahead of the facts: a technology company updated its own product to reflect a name change the President requested, which is - this is normal, this happens, companies update maps for governments constantly, it's called cartographic accuracy, it's not - did I say accuracy? That's not the word I meant. It's called cartographic courtesy, and courtesy is not the same thing as control, whatever the critics want to call it.
And on the anchor situation: the President has every right, as a private citizen and also as the President, to flag inaccurate reporting to the agency that regulates the airwaves, which is a completely standard accountability mechanism available to - well, it's available to him, specifically, in that he's the one who appoints the people who run the agency he's asking to investigate the network covering him, which, when you lay it out like that, does sound like - no, hold on, that's not what I'm saying, strike that.…
