GOP lawmaker declares ActBlue 'got caught,' points to platform officer's Fifth Amendment plea as the evidence

“This is the oldest bar trick there is: somebody clams up because that's their right, and the guy pointing the finger tells you the silence proves him right. It's not evidence, it's a microphone. And notice nobody's naming a dollar figure, a donor, a wire — just a congressman's word that a woman not answering means she's guilty. That's not a fraud case, that's a campaign ad, and your kid's civics teacher is the one who has to explain the difference tomorrow.”

“Look, when a witness takes the Fifth in a laundering probe, that's a red flag, that's just — that's basic investigative logic, my guy. Innocent people explain themselves. ...Did I say that?
