“They're promising she'll 'pay the price' before the one guy whose actual job is setting a price has decided there's a case left to bring, and Gill's on TV bragging he's got zero sympathy for a woman a full jury couldn't unanimously convict. That's not law and order, that's a verdict by press release, and the real court still doesn't know what happens Monday.”
“Look, when eleven citizens can't agree beyond a reasonable doubt, that's the system working exactly as designed — no, wait, that's literally the textbook definition of a hung jury. What I mean is the President's just reflecting the public's certainty, and if the public's more certain than the jury that actually sat through the evidence, well — that's not really how it's supposed to work, is it.
