Citizenship costs $960,000 for an official who'll take it, arrest for a parent who can't pay it.
“They caught a guy with his hand in the citizenship jar for damn near a million bucks, and that same week they're cuffing parents at the bus stop for having empty pockets — that's not two stories, that's a price sheet. Pay up top and get an indictment, which these days is basically a parking ticket with better lawyers; show up broke and you get an ICE van in front of your kids. The tab for this country only gets handed to the people who can't cover it.”
“Look, prosecuting a $960,000 bribery scheme is the system working exactly as designed — accountability, full stop, that's the whole story right there. The bus stop arrests are a completely separate operational matter, border security, nothing to do with — wait, did I just call the indictment the good part? That's not really landing the way I wanted it to.”
