Fake GOP convention site reroutes visitors to Epstein files; the real one built them a reading room
As it ran on the front
Let's take this one in order, because the order is the whole story.
On September 4, the Washington Examiner reported that a website calling itself the "2026 RNC Midterm Convention" — domain gopdallas2026.com, banners up, schedule posted, the works — was redirecting anyone who clicked through to the Justice Department's homepage for the Epstein files. Not a broken link. Not a 404. A working, fully-loaded reroute, from a site dressed up as party infrastructure, straight into a federal document repository. …(cont) All together now — that's beat one. Somebody built a decoy of the Republican Party's own convention and pointed it at Epstein's files. Nobody has said who.
Beat two is the part I keep rereading to make sure I have it right: the actual convention didn't need the decoy. On August 31, the Examiner reported that the real event — the one in Dallas, September 9-10, the one Republicans are actually running — includes a bookmobile and reading room, built to display millions of pages of the Epstein files, on site, during the convention. It has a name: the "Donald J. Trump and Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Reading Room." That is not the parody site. That is the program.
So somewhere this week in Dallas, a visitor could type the wrong URL and land on the Epstein files by accident, or walk into the right building and find the Epstein files on purpose. Either way, same destination.
Meanwhile the convention itself is having a recruitment problem that has nothing to do with any of this — Susan Collins is skipping it, and per the Examiner's September 3 report, organizers were still working the phones days out trying to fill the arena for what internal chatter has dubbed "Trumpalooza." Tickets, apparently, are a harder sell than the reading room.
I don't have a theory about who registered the fake domain. I don't need one. I have a party that spent late August building its own Epstein files exhibit and a fake copy of its own website that does, unassisted, the same job. Two doors, one destination, filed under the same event listing. That's not a leak. That's redundancy.
“You don't need a hacker theory for this one — the fake site and the real convention are doing the same job, which means the files aren't a scandal to these people anymore, they're the merch table. Somebody spent money building a bookmobile to display the thing they spent four years telling you was a hoax, and the con isn't that it leaked, the con is they're charging admission to it now. That's not a cover-up, that's a business model, and your kid's school lunch program didn't get a reading room.”
“Look, any traffic to justice.gov is a win for transparency, that's — okay, I did not mean to say transparency. What I mean is, the RNC doesn't control every website with "gopdallas" in the name, that's just how the internet works, you can't hold the party responsible for a URL. And the reading room? That's the DOJ's material, on public display, at a Republican event, which — no, I hear how that sounds. Next question.”
