SEC calls LSU's lack of institutional control grounds for expulsion; AP calls it grounds for a top-ten ranking

“They tell you there's no oversight in college football, then turn around and use that exact same lack of oversight to justify a top-ten ranking. Same absent rulebook — one filing calls it a violation, one poll calls it a résumé. Try that stunt at a mid-major with no governor holding a press conference for you and see how fast "lack of institutional control" turns into a death sentence instead of a marketing slogan.”

“The SEC is simply enforcing the rules everybody signed up for — a program that loses control of its own coach gets the bylaws' consequences, nothing personal. Though I suppose the same conference's own pollsters just rewarded that identical lack of control with a top-ten ranking. Did I say that? That doesn't sound like me. The rules are the rules, except when they're the marketing copy.”
