Anthropic's researcher quits warning AI could end humanity; Anthropic hires staff to surveil its critics.
“They tell you there's no money for a kill switch, then find plenty to staff up an intelligence unit that tracks the people asking for one — it's all in the same two filings, one quarter apart. Newsom killed the switch a year back; the company answered the extinction number with an org chart, not a plan. Your kid inherits the ten percent; the company inherits the watchlist.”

Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon caused a big stir this week after quitting his job over fears that artificial intelligence may lead to the end of humanity. Evan Hubinger, another Anthropic researcher, joined in, estimating there was a 10% chance artificial intelligence “could kill all humans” within the next decade.
