Kirk's accused killer is cleared for a death penalty trial; the GOP still hasn't filled his convention seat.
“They kept a seat empty for a dead man and called it respect — but the guy accused of pulling the trigger doesn't get an empty seat, he gets a courtroom and maybe a needle, and that's how you know which one of these is real. Funerals are free. A death penalty trial costs the state actual money, actual years, actual will to see it through. Watch where the machine actually moves, not where the party leaves a folding chair for the cameras.”
