Mamdani releases 170,000 pages on toxic air at Ground Zero, told to stay away, shows up anyway
“This is the whole con in one week: release proof the air was poison, then get told the guy who released it needs to stay home from the day everyone gathers to grieve what that poison did. Mamdani didn't invent Ground Zero's health crisis, he just put a page count on it, and now the number is the reason he's not welcome at his own city's ceremony. Follow the paper: 170,000 pages went into the rotunda, a petition came out of it, and Friday he stood there anyway because somebody has to.”
“Look, nobody's saying the documents are fake, I'm not — that's not what I'm saying. The families have a right to ask who stands on that platform, and if the mayor can't read the room on the one day New York agrees not to fight, that's on him, not on Tom Von Essen for saying so. Did I just make Von Essen the reasonable one here? That's not usually where I land, but here we are.”
