A state university just ran its own internal-affairs investigation into a state-funded athletic program and closed the file the same week the last person under it quit — that's not accountability, that's an institution grading its own take-home exam, and the University of North Carolina, not this reporter, owes somebody an explanation for why the school gets to be the investigator, the jury, and the exit door, all in one week.

"Essentially the same moment" is doing a lot of work — Fox's headline puts the resignation and the closure in one sentence. No essentially about it.
Nobody elected you internal affairs, hush. But he's right that it happened fast — Fox's own timeline has Lombardi out September 4th and Belichick out September 17th, thirteen days, both under the same probe. Go lie down, Gus.
