As it ran on the front
A year ago the administration signed a memo, filed as an internal directive to disrupt the left. Liberation News says that, a year later, it reads less like rhetoric and more like an operational log — surveillance, harassment, infiltration, prosecution, each item checked off in order. The check marks have dates.
Start with Aug. 25: Autumn Hill, a 30-year-old trans woman, is sentenced to fifty years in a Texas prison for protesting outside the Prairieland ICE jail. She is one of nine people convicted after federal prosecutors decided to call the group an "antifa terror cell" — a label that turns a picket line into a terrorism case, and a terrorism case into fifty years. …(cont) A week after that, Sept. 3, two Senate Democrats open an inquiry into a different arm of the same government: reporting says the IRS is drawing up plans to point itself at left-leaning nonprofits, burying them in penalties without adequate due process. Same building. Different letterhead. Same list.
Sept. 15, a federal judge refers Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner to federal prosecutors over how his office handled a murder case.
Then, this week, the loop closes on itself. Sheri Mecklenburg, the DOJ attorney who built the Broadview 6 prosecution, resigns and writes it down: U.S. Attorney Andrew Boutros "personally directed" the case that ended her career. Not the memo's authors. Not a source who stayed anonymous. The prosecutor who did the work, naming the person who told her to do it.
That is the blueprint working exactly as filed — an internal directive filed without a floor vote, executed by people whose names now show up in the recall petitions, the referrals, and the resignation letters, everywhere except on the memo itself.
“They wrote it down a year ago — disrupt the left — and now the receipts read like somebody's actually working the checklist: a DA referred, a woman doing fifty years for standing outside a jail, and the prosecutor who built one of these cases quitting because she couldn't stomach who ordered it. That's not overreach, that's a program with a budget line and a boss, and Boutros just got named as the boss.”
“Look, the judge referred Krasner because he and his own assistant may have broken the law hiding how they helped overturn a murder conviction — that's not persecution, that's a judge doing their job. And the resignation letter? That's one attorney's personal dispute with her own U.S. Attorney, it doesn't prove anything about — well, she does say he personally directed it, but that's just called supervision. Did I say that? That doesn't sound like me.”

Sheri Mecklenburg resigned from the Department of Justice this week, penning a scathing letter in which she said U.S. Attorney Andrew Boutros "personally directed" the Broadview 6 prosecution that she says ended her career.
