Fetterman says Democrats have room for 9/11 apologists than him, then predicts they win anyway.

…(cont) Ten days later, on September 14th, the New York Post ran the headline his record had already written for him: "Fury at Fetterman refutes Democrats' claim to be a 'big tent' party." The Post's evidence was the video Fetterman had taped for the Republican National Committee's midterm convention, endorsing GOP Senate candidate Dave McCormick and pledging to work with Trump. A sitting Democrat's face, on a loop, at the other party's convention, under the words "big tent." Beat three, and the Post did not have to embellish a word of it.

Then came today's beat, the one that closes the loop instead of just widening it. At the Texas Tribune Festival, Fetterman referred to himself on stage as a "lifelong Republican," a label he then walked back, Fox News reported, to laughs from the crowd. In that same appearance, he told the audience the Democratic Party's big tent has more room for people who say America "deserved 9/11" than it has for pro-Israel Democrats like him. One label applied to himself by mistake, one label he insists the party reserves for everyone but him.

And then, in that same room, CBS News has him saying it is "entirely possible" his party retakes the Senate this cycle. He left the door open, too, on what he does next. The tape says Republican. The mouth says Republican, catches itself, says Democrat, then says the Democrats can't be trusted with a big tent but can be trusted with a majority. Only one of those sentences needs him to be right, and it is the one where his own seat is on the line.
