Feds cite unnamed DNA to confirm denaturalizing a congresswoman already cleared by three probes.

As it ran on the front
An old presumption in American law — that government proves its case before it ruins someone's career — died this week, somewhere between a sealed grand jury room and a Fox Business studio.
A month before that, on September 15, Representative James Comer had asked the Trump administration to release its evidence so the House could decide whether to expel her. The administration did not release it.…
…(cont) By October 13, the silence had become its own campaign. Omar's own fundraising email that week called the investigation "baseless" and "partisan" and asked supporters for money to fight it. Two days later, her office called the reported plan to strip her citizenship "an authoritarian move to silence an opponent."
Former President Obama called the probe appalling, and the right answered him by reading back his own administration's Tea Party IRS file, the one his officials once swore under oath did not exist.
Then came Sunday, and three things arrived in order. Border Czar Tom Homan confirmed, on the record, that the administration is looking to denaturalize Omar. The New York Post reported, citing sources, that federal investigators have DNA evidence showing she married her brother in 2009 for a green card — a claim that lands, Truthout noted the same day, after previous inquiries into her citizenship found no evidence of fraud. Whether that is proof or malarkey will not be settled on a cable panel, but on Fox Business, Washington Examiner's Byron York settled it anyway: "Obviously, Ilhan Omar is in a ton of trouble."
The presumption is survived by the subpoenas, the sealed file, and a grand jury that has not yet spoken. It is preceded in death by the unnamed source, who always gets there first.
In lieu of flowers, wait for the indictment before you read the verdict.
“This is the same move every time: leak an anonymous tip, let a cable panel call it a verdict, and the actual case never has to show up in a courtroom. They've cleared her before — Truthout says so, today, in the same story — and the new thing this week is a DNA claim nobody's put in front of a judge. If this works on a sitting member of Congress, it works on anybody with a green card and the wrong last name.”
“Nobody's saying she's guilty here, the administration is just confirming they're looking into it — well, and the sourcing is DNA, which is, okay, pretty specific for a "looking into it" — but Comer just wants the evidence released so Congress can decide, that's oversight, that's not a lynch mob. Did I just use the word lynch mob? Strike that, forget I said that.”
